Carmichael Homeowners Anticipate Fourth, Festivities, Fireworks

Carmichael residents are anxiously anticipating the Fourth of July Festivities at their local parks this Sunday. Neighbors will gather bright and early at the Carmichael Park Clubhouse for a pancake breakfast. The Kiwanis will be flipping pancakes, and serving up coffee, juice, fruit and sausage from 7 AM to Noon. The Kiwanis Club actively support youth services and school programs, so your breakfast participation will support youth here and abroad. Carmichael Park is located at 5750 Grant Ave in the heart of Carmichael.

At 11 AM grab a spot along Fair Oaks Boulevard and prepare to celebrate with the 52nd annual Elks Club Fourth of July Parade. The Elks will be “Honoring those Who Serve,” with a classic all American parade. There will be fire trucks, marching bands, floats filled with smiling, cheering community members, clowns, equestrians, athletes, and classic cars. Bring a flag to wave and enjoy this slice of perfect Americana! The parade starts at 11AM on Fair Oaks Blvd at Kenneth and progresses down Fair Oaks Blvd to end at Cypress/Manzanita.

At 6 PM the community will reconvene at the La Sierra Community Center with the Kids Zone for children of all ages. Children will have unlimited access to inflatables, arts/crafts, a puppet theatre and more. The Little League snack bar will be open for BBQ, drinks, ice cream and the Sacramento Fire Fighters Association will have fire trucks on display and activities. Bring a blanket or folding chairs, musical entertainment will begin at 6:30 with a variety of bands. The crescendo of the day will be a fabulous fireworks show at dark (about 9:30pm). The La Sierra Community Center is located at 5325 Engle Road, just around the corner from Carmichael Park.
